In need of recipes

Okay, I need some help. Does anyone have a really good recipe for chocolate cream pie and/or homemade salsa?

The story behind needing a chocolate cream pie recipe is kinda funny. A friend of ours invited Darby and me over for a cookout on Memorial Day. I asked him if I could bring anything, and he said, "Yeah...a chocolate cream pie." It kind of surprised me. Usually people say, "Oh, a dessert or something." But, he knew he wanted a chocolate cream pie. I'm happy to oblige, and I've actually been looking for an excuse to make one. Norma (for those of you who know her) gave me her recipe a while ago. But when I started looking at it, it seemed to be missing a step or two. I might just use the steps of another recipe and the ingredients from Norma's, but I'm nervous. Anyone made one?

I've been going through A LOT of storebought salsa lately, and it's pretty expensive. I think I can make it for less at home, especially if I make a big batch and freeze some of it. (I'm not ready to get into canning yet. I'm afraid I might poison myself or something.) I found what looks like a good recipe online here, but any suggestions are welcome.

For an easy/cheap salsa, blend in your blender or food processor:

2 cans of whole stewed tomatoes
1 or 2 serrano peppers (depending on how hot you like it)
garlic salt to taste

It is the easiest recipe in the world. My moms best friend, Sandra, taught it to me. She is Hispanic, and they have Mexican food almost every meal, so this is a staple at their house. I also love to throw some chopped cilantro in if I have some on hand. Cilantro is my favorite herb, and it adds a freshness to the salsa. Hope you enjoy!

Kayla, anytime I make fajitas for dinner, I also make this salsa with it. It's from a recipe book called Lone Star Legacy that I got as a wedding gift. It is a chunkier salsa, which is why I personally like it so much.
Salsa Fresca

1 large tomato, seeded and chopped
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped (I leave this out)
1/4 c. tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cilantro chopped

let sit in frig for 30 min. yields about 1 pint. simple but delicious!

Kayla this is how I do salsa:
1 lg can whole tom (add juice from can)
1-2 jalapeno peppers (depending on how hot you want it, you can use serano peppers if you don't want it too hot)
1/2 red onion
1 garlic clove
kosher salt (to taste)
cilantro (I don't measure, maybe 1/8 or 1/4 cup chopped)
juice of 1-2 limes

I just put everything together in my blender (if I had a food processor, I would use that). You can either do a large chop or blend it all together to make it runnier. However you like it. I love this recipe!!! I made a jar for all of my brothers-in-law for Christmas. We go through this really fast, but I agree that it is definitely cheaper to make it yourself. I also think it tastes a lot better. The thing I like about it is that you can change it up to fit your taste as much as you like. Use these suggestions as a start and pretty soon you'll come up with your own. That's how I came up with this one.

Enjoy!

My mom makes salsa that's to die for--a little sweet and really yummy. I'll try to get her recipe to add to your new collection!
